Francisco Lobo

Francisco Lobo is a law graduate from the University of Chile. He holds an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from New York University, and a Master of Laws specializing in International Law from the University of Chile. He is a lecturer of International Law at the Adolfo Ibáñez University, and a lecturer of Legal Theory at the Diego Portales University, both in Santiago of Chile. He has worked as an NYU Fellow of International Law and Human Rights at the International Law Commission of the United Nations (2018), where he assisted the Special Rapporteur on Peremptory Norms of General International Law (ius cogens). He has also worked as a legal advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile. He has been awarded several scholarships, including the Fulbright Scholarship (2016), the Becas Chile Scholarship (2016; 2019), and the Dean’s Graduate Award at NYU School of Law. In 2020 he will begin his doctoral studies at the War Studies Department in King’s College London. His research interests include International Law, Human Rights, the Law of Armed Conflict, and International Criminal Law, as well as a multidisciplinary approach to the phenomenon of violence from the perspective of history, philosophy and ethics.
